One of the nice things about web-based software development is
that you can changes things easily and take advantage of continuous
improvement. It's nice to be able to experiment and explore
new options; it's a fast way to keep making the site better.
For the past month, we've experimented with requiring
registration and logging in before posting on the discussion board.
As I suspected, this requirement reduced the quantity of posts and
also reduced some of the more objectionable material on the board.
It's been a month and I want to end the experiment and see if we
can make it work without requiring registration. Even though
registering doesn't reveal anything more about you, many current
Enterprise employees are still concerned about maintaining their
anonymity here.
So let's give it a try with mandatory registration turned off and
see how it goes. Your feedback welcomed at

The new traffic statistics are in. In April, we were
visited by 19,184 unique IP addresses and served 793,802 pages, both
of which are new records. For the past 14 months, we've had a
12% per month exponential growth rate, and we're still the second
most popular corporate complaint site on the Internet, ahead of
sites for Wal-Mart, Starbucks, McDonald's, etc.
